2023 WLPOA Election Process for Board Members

Every year at the July annual membership meeting, the eligible POA members (those that have paid their dues) elect three members to the Board of Directors. Each position is a three-year term. The annual membership meeting will take place Saturday July 1, 2023. 9:00am at the Sage Twp Hall.
This year the board has decided to test out a new process. 
How to become a candidate:

1. Anyone that would like to run for a position on the WLPOA Board of Directors must complete the questionnaire, attached below and email to our Secretary, Mark Fedewa, fedewa14@gmail.com. Questionnaires must be received by June 20, 2023.
   
2. Each potential candidate will then be certified by Treasurer/Membership Chair Mike Hermann that they are an eligible WLPOA property owner and have paid their 2023 dues.
   
3. Names of each candidate and questionnaire answers will be posted on www.WigginsLake.org by June 22, 2023.
   

How the voting process will work:

1. As paid members arrive at the annual membership meeting, they will be handed one ballot with each candidate’s name. 
   
2. After the meeting has begun, the President of the Board will appoint 3 members in attendance to count the ballots. 
   
3. At this point, all ballots will be collected and handed to the 3 appointees who will tally the votes while the rest of the meeting continues.
   
4. The top three vote getters will be deemed the winners.
   
5. At the end of the general meeting, the President will announce the winners.
   
6. We will adjourn the general membership meeting.
   

Note: In the event that there are three or less candidates, a simple vote of hands will be taken to confirm membership approval. Formal voting will not be required.
Election of Officers:

1. After the adjournment of the general membership meeting, we will take a 10 minute break.
   
2. We will then call to order members of the new WLPOA Board of Directors. This Board will then elect their President, Treasurer and Secretary.
   
3. All POA members are welcome to stay for the election.
